About Rivaldo
I am a forensic geneticist building a career at the intersection of wildlife forensics, research writing, digital products, and practical web systems.
My work focuses on wildlife forensic DNA degradation, species identification, and the digital tools that help researchers, creators, and small businesses operate with more clarity.
From forensic science to MSc research to digital systems
I studied forensic science and genetics, moved deeper into forensic genetics through honours, and now work on MSc research in wildlife forensics at the University of the Free State. The research asks what happens when biological evidence leaves ideal lab conditions and meets real substrates, exposure, degradation, mixtures, and interpretation limits. Outside the lab and literature, I build products, websites, and systems through Rivaldo Mockson Studio.
The overlap is deliberate.
The brand is not a generic portfolio. It is a working record of forensic genetics, MSc research, academic writing, software, studio work, and public learning.
